Skateboarding is a fun and exciting sport that attracts young adults in learning it. Although many parents think it is dangerous it does not stop the kids from doing it. Accidents happen in skateboarding when we are not careful yet these accidents also pave way to great skateboarders. This sport is invented not to harm but to render fun and excitement to the people. Here are some tips in learning skateboard and their tricks.

And remember the guidelines and the equipment each skater need are there for a given purpose.

Skateboarding Tricks
1) 180- It is when the skateboarder, while in the air turns 180 degrees and when he/she touches the ground the nose will be position in the other side.
2) 360 – It is when the skateboarder, while in the air turns 360 degrees without changing the board’s direction.
3) 5-0 – It is when the skateboard’s nose is a little bit in the air and the skateboarder grinds the board using the back truck.
4) 50-50- It is when the skateboarder’s grind at an object with both
trucks.
5) Air – It is when the skateboarder is seen on air without ollying.
6) Backside – It is when the skateboarders back is seen facing the outside of an arc being turned while doing a rotation.
7) Bail – It is when the skater lands safely after a failure in doing a trick.
8) Carving – It is when the skateboarder leans and cuts into turns
while riding its board.
9) Fakie- It is when the skateboarder skates at the opposite direction/backwards.
10) Frontside- It is when the skateboarders front is facing on the
outer side of an arc while rotating.
11) Goofy – It is a stance that refers to the skaters positioning of the foot. It is called Goofy when the left foot is on the back or what is called tail.
12) Grabs- It is when the skateboarder reaches down the board to grab it.
13) Grind- It is when you use the truck while sliding an edge.
14) Heel edge- This refers to the edge of a board.
15) Heel Flip- It is when the skaters kick the board to make it flip
under them.
16) Indy- It is similar to grab but the skater will have to grab the toe side of the board and keeping their back hand down.
17) Kickflip- It is when the skater is in the air and flick the board with his or her foot and make it spin while on air and then lands on the board.
18) Manual- It is when the skateboarder is rolling on the ground
without the tail touching the ground.
19) Nollie- It is when the skateboarder slaps the nose of his board towards the ground and pop its board into the air.
20) Nose- The nose is located in front of a skateboard deck and is seen after the two screws.

Those are the list for skateboarding tricks now we then go over to the skateboarding tips.

Skateboarding Tips
1) Basic Gear – The first thing you need to do is to have a pair of skate, a helmet, a protective pads (elbow and knee pads) and wrist braces.
2) Getting Comfortable – After purchasing your new skateboard you need to be comfortable on it. Try these on your board before trying dangerous tricks: standing, jumping and etc…
3) Stance: Goofy vs. Regular – Goofy is when you skate with your
Right foot forward and Regular is the opposite. These are what you called stances, you need to figure out which stance you belong.
4) Pushing- Try to roll your board on a parking lot and practice cruising with your board by using your back foot.
5) Stopping- You can stop by taking off your back foot and drag it on the ground this is what you called Foot breaking.
6) Carving- Its is the act of leaning heel side or toe side to get your board to turn. In doing this just push the board and shift your weight to your heels while the board is turning.
6) Skating Over Flow- In skating at ramps, bend your knees and shift your weight to your front foot to maintain balance and absorb shock.
7) Kick turns- It is when you balance yourself at the back of the wheels and swing to a new direction.
8) Getting Hurt and Getting Back Up- Don’t stop skating regardless on how many times you fall.
9) Skate and Create- This is where you have your share of fun in skating and creating moves with your skateboard.

What do you think after reading these tips? I know that skateboarding is hard specially after hearing what you have to do but its pretty cool. Everything is possible when you put your heart and mind into it. I’m pretty sure that with a lot of practice, patience and falls you would become the best skateboarder you should be.
